Nelson and the Friends of Jesus (FOJ) comes from San Jose, California. This band started in 1996 as a Lifeteen band from a local parish. They have performed in many local, diocesan, national youth and young adult events and recently performed internationally in Australia for the World Youth Day. They have performed at the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, Houston, Atlanta and Columbus, Ohio. They have performed also for the National Conference of Youth Ministry in Las Vegas, Nevada. FOJ has also entertained youth at LA Religious Congress Youth Day.
Last July, 2008, FOJ was chosen and invited to perform at World Youth Day in Australia. They were only one of two US bands that performed in the main stage of World Youth Day Youth Festival (the other band was the Matt Maher Band) in Barangaroo. At WYD Australia, FOJ was also blessed to have been invited by OCP to be the house band for OCP artists Jesse Manibusan, Steve Angrisano, Curtis Stephan and Santiago Fernandez. Being able to minister in WYD Australia and with awesome OCP artists was truly the biggest blessing that this Spirit-filled band had ever experienced.
If you want your event to rock…if you want the people clapping, jumping and singing…then you need FOJ!!! Great ministers of the Lord!!!
